April to June — The Sweet Spot
This is generally the best window for most travelers. Sea temperatures start warming up by May, daytime temperatures sit comfortably between 22-28C, and hotel prices are noticeably lower than peak summer. The main trade-off: the sea can still feel cool for swimming in early April.
July and August — Peak Season, Peak Heat
Temperatures regularly exceed 35C, sometimes reaching 40C. This is when Antalya is busiest and most expensive. If you are heat-sensitive, this is genuinely not an ideal time — consider a hotel with strong shade coverage and a pool close to your room if you do travel now.
September and October — The Second Sweet Spot
Sea temperatures are at their warmest (summer heat has warmed the Mediterranean all season), air temperatures cool to a more comfortable 26-30C, and crowds thin out significantly after early September. Many experienced travelers consider this the single best window.
November to March — Off-Season
Many resort hotels close for the winter, especially in Belek and Side. Antalya city itself stays open year-round and can be a pleasant, quiet city-break destination, but this is not the season for a beach holiday.
If we had to pick one window: late September into early October offers the best balance of warm sea, comfortable air temperature, and manageable prices.
