Spring (April-June): Warming Up
April is mild and can still be too cool to swim comfortably for some. By May, air temperatures reach the low-to-mid 20s Celsius, and by June, both air and sea are comfortably warm — this is one of the best-value windows of the year.
Summer (July-August): Hot, Dry, Busy
Daytime temperatures regularly exceed 35C and can reach 40C, with almost no rain. This is peak season for a reason — the sea is at its warmest — but it is also the most crowded and expensive period, and genuinely uncomfortable for heat-sensitive travelers.
Autumn (September-October): The Underrated Window
The sea stays warm from the summer heat while air temperatures ease to a more comfortable 26-30C, and crowds thin noticeably after early September. Many repeat visitors consider this the best combination of weather and value all year.
Winter (November-March): Off-Season for Beaches, Fine for the City
Many resort-style hotels close for the season, particularly in Belek and Side. Antalya city stays open and mild by European winter standards, making it a reasonable city-break destination, but this is not the season to book a beach holiday.
For a beach-first trip, aim for June or September-October. Only travel in peak July-August if you specifically want maximum heat and don't mind the crowds and prices that come with it.
