Hiking Near Antalya: The Lycian Way and Nature Trails

Beyond the beach, the mountains and coastline around Antalya offer genuine hiking, most notably a section of Turkey's best-known long-distance trail.

The Lycian Way

A waymarked long-distance trail running roughly 500+ km along Turkey's southwestern coast, with sections easily accessible near Kas and Kemer for travelers who want a half-day or full-day hike rather than the full multi-week route.

Kemer's Mountain Backdrop

Kemer's setting against the Taurus Mountains makes it the most naturally hike-friendly of the main resort districts, with trail access closer at hand than Belek, Lara or Side.

Termessos as a Hike-and-Ruins Combination

Covered in more detail in our Ancient Ruins guide, Termessos combines a genuine uphill hike with mountaintop ruins — a strong option if you want history and physical activity in the same outing.

Practical Preparation

Proper footwear, sun protection and water are non-negotiable even for shorter Lycian Way sections — the coastal Mediterranean sun makes even a moderate hike more demanding than the distance alone would suggest, especially outside the cooler shoulder-season months.

Kemer and Kas are the most natural bases for a hiking-inclusive Antalya trip — a half-day Lycian Way section or the Termessos hike-and-ruins combination are both realistic additions to an otherwise beach-focused stay.
