Aspendos
Home to one of the best-preserved Roman theaters in the world, still used for performances today — the acoustics and scale are genuinely striking even for visitors without a strong interest in ancient history. Closest to Belek and Side, making it an easy half-day trip from either.
Perge
A large, walkable ancient city site with a colonnaded main street, agora and stadium — less dramatic than Aspendos' single standout monument, but more immersive as a full ancient-city walk. Located close to Antalya city, convenient from Lara or Konyaalti.
Termessos
A mountain-top ancient city that was never conquered by Alexander the Great, reached via a steep uphill walk through a national park setting — the most physically demanding of the three but the most dramatic setting, combining ruins with genuine hiking.
Planning Your Visit
All three can be visited independently by rental car or via an organized tour; midday summer heat makes an early-morning start worthwhile for Termessos specifically given the walking involved. Aspendos and Perge can realistically be combined in one day; Termessos is better as its own outing.
For most visitors, Aspendos is the single best return-on-time ancient site near Antalya; add Perge if you want a fuller day of ruins, and Termessos specifically if you also want a hike with your history.
