Morning: Hadrian's Gate to the Clock Tower

Start at Hadrian's Gate before the heat and crowds build up, and walk toward the Clock Tower and Yivli Minaret — this stretch covers most of Kaleiçi's landmark architecture in under an hour of walking.

Midday: Lunch Near the Bazaar

Break for lunch at one of the small restaurants around the old town's bazaar streets — this is also the best window for browsing shops before the afternoon heat sets in.

Afternoon: The Old Harbor

Spend the afternoon at Kaleiçi's marina — a coffee or drink at a harbor-side cafe, and optionally a short boat trip along the coast if you want to see the old town walls from the water.

Evening: Dinner with a Harbor View

Stay for dinner at one of the restaurants overlooking the marina as it lights up in the evening — this is consistently the most atmospheric time to be in Kaleiçi, well worth staying past sunset for.

The natural flow of Kaleiçi is landmarks in the morning, harbor in the afternoon and evening — trying to reverse this order means fighting both the heat and the crowds at the wrong times.
