Alanya Castle and the Old Town

Central Alanya vs Eastern Resort Areas
It's worth understanding the split before planning a visit: central Alanya, around the castle, harbor and Kleopatra Beach, has the walkable sightseeing and old-town character described above, while the eastern resort strip toward Okurcalar is a different kind of place entirely — a longer run of hotel-focused coastline with wider beaches and less day-to-day town life. What to Do in Alanya in Two Days
A reasonable two-day plan splits sightseeing from beach time: dedicate one day to the castle, old town, Kızılkule and harbor, with Damlataş Cave worked in if there's time, and give the second day to Kleopatra Beach or a boat trip along the coast. Travelers with more time can add a jeep safari into the Taurus foothills as a change of pace from the coast, or extend beach time toward the quieter eastern strip.
Alanya's real strength is having genuine sightseeing — a castle, a historic tower, a cave, an old town — within walking distance of a proper beach, which is unusual for this coast.
