Bali Visa & Entry Requirements

As part of Indonesia, Bali follows Indonesian national entry rules, not a separate island policy — always confirm current requirements for your specific passport before booking.

Visa on arrival

Many nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival at Bali's Ngurah Rai airport (or online in advance), valid for a set number of days and typically extendable once from within Indonesia. This is the most common route for short leisure trips.

Passport validity

Indonesia generally expects at least six months of passport validity from your entry date, plus at least one blank visa page — check both before booking flights.

Extensions and overstays

If you want to stay longer than your visa-on-arrival period, extensions are usually possible through a local immigration office or an agent before it expires — overstaying is taken seriously and comes with fines or worse, so track your exact entry date.

For most short-stay leisure travelers, visa-on-arrival makes Bali straightforward to visit — the real planning task is knowing your exact allowed duration and extending in time if you want to stay longer.
